Altera unveils Agilex 2X FPGAs and the QuartusIQ AI design assistant for physical AI
Altera announced its Agilex 2X FPGA portfolio, led by Agilex 27 for AI infrastructure, networking and aerospace and defense, with engineering samples expected in the second half of 2027. Its QuartusIQ AI design assistant is already downloadable with Quartus Prime 26.3. My take: even chip engineers now have an AI helper for debugging, so no profession is sitting this wave out. The silicon arrives next year, but the tool works today.
