GIGABYTE unveiled the WRX90 AI TOP, a workstation motherboard for AMD Threadripper PRO with seven PCIe 5.0 x16 slots plus two MCIO connectors, enough for up to nine GPUs through compatible expansion hardware, up to 2 TB of ECC memory, built-in BMC remote management and dual 10GbE. My take: while everyone fights over cloud compute, hardware makers are turning "bring AI back in-house" into an off-the-shelf product. If your data is sensitive and you run models every day, it's worth doing the math on owning versus renting.
